พระครูธรรมกิต โกศล ( อ.นงศ์ ) Phra Archan Nong
Wat Sai Khao was situated along Sai Khao National Park and Sai Khao Waterfall of Khok Pho district, Pattani province. It’s the serenity of this natural forest location, where Buddhist monks practices their mind to self-induces a mode of consciousness by conveying indulgences to others, Meditation often involves invoking or cultivating a feeling or internal state, such as the beginning of mindfulness of sharing and to concentrate on a specific focal point. And as such, Sai Khao National Park and Sai Khao Waterfall has become a perfect location and preference for monks practicing their routine meditation.
The late Venerable Phra Kru Dhamma Kit Kosorn ( Phra Archan Nong ) was appointed chief abbot of Wat Sai Khao in 1968. Phra Archan Nong has his primary education at Na Pradu school and was ordained as a novice at the age of 19 at Wat Na Pradu by Phra Kru Pattarakhon Kowit and Phra Buddhasaiyarak of Wat Na Tham. Unfortunately, he has to disrobe as a novice within a month to help in his family's farm . When he reachs the age of 21, he was once again ordain as a monk on 27 June 1939 at Wat Na Pradu under Phra Kru Phiboon Samanawat preceptor-ship and he was given the title Phra Dhamma Bhuto. During his primitive year, he and Phra Archan Thim has to travel back and forth between Wat Na Pradu and Wat Tu Yong to further their Tripitaka and Dhamma studies under Phra Kru Phiboon Samanawat of Wat Mutchalinthawapi Vihan ( Wat Tu Yong ) at Nong Chik district of Pattani province.
Wat Sai Khao was built in B.E. 2300 with donation from Buddhist devotees from near and afar. In its earliest day Wat Sai Khao was just an ordinary Buddhist temple mainly to serve the local villager’s religious and their spiritual need. Rite and rituals were part of Thai culture but nevertheless the mains substance are stilled the Three Jewels - Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha. In order to develop the qualities of Metta ( Loving Kindness ), Karuna ( Compassion ), Mudita ( Sympathetic ) and Upekkha ( Equanimity ). It was during Phra Archan Nong administration where Wat Sai Khao has become a household name in Southern Thailand, all this owing to his Buddhist philosophy and propagation of Dhamma that has gained the sentiment from the Buddhist followers. Moreover, he also organized and conducts Buddhist events by raising fund to maintain and renovates the existing Uposatha Hall, Monk’s residences and the whole temples’ compound for the benefit of the general public.
His intrinsic worth along with Phra Archan Thim Dhamma Tharo and Chao Khun Phra Raj Panyarangsri will be always well-regarded for their original form of Buddhism and great devotion. Not only were they famous in Thailand, even neighbouring Malaysia and Singapore Buddhist followers too acknowledged they were the pioneer architects of the legendry Somdet Luang Pu Thuat commemorative amulet.
Phra Kru Dhamma Kit Kosorn ( Phra Archan Nong ) was known as a forbearing and compassionate monk, and due to his physical exertion in serving Buddhist communities and fulfilling his duty as Buddhist’s monk he was stressed out with high blood pressure and heart problem and was peacefully departed on September 11, 1999 which left a legendary likes the late Ven. Phra Kru Witsai Sophon ( Phra Archan Thim Dhamma Tharo ) and the late Ven. Chao Khun Phra Raj Panyarangsri where followers will truly missed the discourse and teachings of Buddha from these three great spiritual leaders.
Note: The late Venerable Chao Khun Phra Raj Panyarangsri is an upright monk who has always works behind the scene, as former provincial chief of Pattani province and chief abbot of Wat Na Pradu, he has constantly involved and assists in every Buddhist affairs and events under his administration of Pattani province, therefore very few Buddhist followers outside Pattani province knew or recognised much of his personal involvements and accomplishment.
